Million Women Rise

Saturday March 8th was International Women’s Day. A group of my friends got the train to London and joined the Million Women Rising march and rally in central London. Around eight thousand women holding placards walked all the way along Oxford Street, Regent’s Street and on to Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square.
In 2008 the group issued a call to protest against all forms of male violence towards women and girls. This was the 18th time the Million Women Rising march has taken place in London.
