My background is in Photojournalism, documentary photography and social/community work.
Artist and Mental Health advocate Liz Atkin uses texture photos to help deal with anxiety. In March 2020 I started a photo series of slow walk textures during the first COVID-19 Lockdown. I then joined a 4-week online introduction to Mindful Photography run by Ruth Davey.
In 2018, researchers at Lancaster University found taking a daily photo improved wellbeing . “Taking a moment to be mindful, and looking for something different or unusual in the day were seen as positive well-being benefits of the practice.”
