Whitstable Carnival 2024

The Reverend Simon Tillotson blessed the Lammas bread under the yew tree in the grounds of All Saints Church, a few days before the carnival starts. Carnival Chair Nick Dent says in the Whitstable Fiesta by the Sea Brochure, this year’s Carnival marks its 127th anniversary and he hoped that people would celebrate in style! They did! Crowds lined the streets in Tankerton- and along the whole route into Whitstable.

The carnival committee worked tirelessly across the year to make it another huge success. The hope was that the community would share their joy, creativity and sense of fun! Local people and businesses organised entertainment and stalls as well as a music stage outside Whitstable Library! My photos show just some of the joy and fun that people had on the day – and what another fantastic Carnival it was!
